1.  Tell us a short version of what your business is?

Williams River Steel Group (WRS) is one of Australia’s leading integrated construction and manufacturing businesses, providing complete turnkey project solutions across the commercial, industrial, mining, infrastructure and government sectors.

What sets us apart is our ability to take a project from an initial concept and deliver the finished facility. Through our in-house capabilities, we offer architectural drafting, structural design coordination, engineering management, project management, steel fabrication, precast concrete manufacturing, logistics, delivery, installation, fit-out, quality assurance, testing, commissioning and final handover.

Rather than managing multiple consultants, suppliers and contractors, our clients benefit from a single experienced team delivering the entire package.

2.  How long have you been operating and how many people are in your team?

Williams River Steel Group has been operating for more than 40 + years and has grown into a diverse construction and manufacturing business employing more than 75 highly skilled team members.

Our workforce includes, engineers, architectural ,detailers, designers, fabricators, installers, project managers, estimator’s supervisors and support staff working together across multiple locations throughout the east coast of Australia.

Our precast concrete manufacturing through Australian Precast Panel Systems (APPS) further strengthened our ability to provide genuine end-to-end project delivery solutions.

3.  What are the successes and challenges of your business?

Our greatest success has been building a reputation for quality, reliability and long-term client relationships. We are proud to have successfully delivered projects ranging from industrial facilities and warehouses through to mining, government and commercial developments.

Like many businesses in the construction sector, labour availability, supply chain pressures and increasing project complexity continue to present challenges. However, these challenges have driven innovation and encouraged us to expand our capabilities, allowing WRS to offer clients greater certainty through a fully integrated delivery model.

4.  What were the reasons you made the move to Nexus?

As our business continues to grow, we wanted a professional environment that supports collaboration, innovation and business development.

Nexus provides an outstanding facility and connects us with a network of progressive local businesses. Being part of the Nexus community strengthens our ability to form partnerships, create opportunities and contribute to regional growth.

5.  How can you help other Nexus members?

Whether you’re considering a new warehouse, office, factory extension, commercial development, mining facility or industrial upgrade, WRS can assist from the earliest planning stages through to project completion.

We are always happy to provide:

  • Early-stage feasibility advice
  • Budget estimates and cost planning
  • Design and construct solutions
  • Structural steel packages
  • Precast concrete systems
  • Project delivery strategies
  • Turnkey construction , Fit out solutions

Our team can often identify opportunities to reduce project costs, improve constructability and accelerate delivery timeframes before construction even begins.

6.  Any other information or tips you’d like to include?

One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned over the last four decades is that successful projects start with the right team involved early.

Engaging experienced builders, designers and manufacturers at the concept stage often delivers significant savings, reduces risk and results in better project outcomes.

At Williams River Steel Group, our philosophy is simple:

“From Concept to Completion.”

We believe clients deserve a partner who can manage the entire journey, not just one component of it.

With more than 40 years of experience, over 75 dedicated employees, and a fully integrated team covering design, engineering, manufacturing, delivery, installation and fit-out, WRS has established itself as a trusted turnkey project partner throughout NSW and beyond.
